AHS Community Service Awards

Acalanes High School recognizes students for their volunteer contributions through the Service Award Program, coordinated by the Acalanes Parents Club (APC). AHS is also a certified organization for the Presidential Volunteer Service Award (PVSA), which is now ON HOLD.

 

Award Timeline:
April 19, 2025 – April 17, 2026

 

Available Awards:

  • Acalanes High School Volunteer Service Award: Awarded to students who complete 30+ hours of community service.

  • Presidential Volunteer Service Award (PVSA): ON HOLD

  • Excellence in Community Service Award: Granted once during high school to students who: complete 300+ service hours over four years, or earn three PVSA awards at any level. Recipients will receive a graduation honor cord. Students who qualify by junior year may request early verification for college applications.


Service Requirements:

  • Must be served during award calendar year (including incoming Freshmen)

  • Follow approved service guidelines

  • Logged correctly in the Helper Helper app within one month of service

  • Verified by a volunteer coordinator by April 17, 2026

Award Distribution:
In May, recipients will receive award details via email, including the date of a lunchtime distribution event. All awards are free, funded by APC.
