Step 1: Complete Residency Verification

Come to the Acalanes Main Office Weekdays from July 27th - August 7th between 8:00am and 3:30pm. In addition, two evening residency verification opportunities will be available. Please bring all required residency documents. See below:

Residency Verification must be completed in person by the following groups of students prior to the start of each school year.

Students entering grade 9 and grade 10
Students admitted on an Interdistrict transfer*
Any student who has moved

*Students attending AUHSD through an interdistrict transfer, should provide their approval letter for the 2026-27 school year as your proof of residency verification.

To establish residence the parent/legal guardian must supply the following:

A valid photo ID
Two (2) types of documentation, one from each group below showing name and residence address

Group 1

Provide one document from the list below:

Current Rental/Lease Agreement with the following:
- Parent/Guardian name(s)
- Manager or owner name & phone number
- Verification of occupancy for the 2026-27 school year
- Does not include rented portions of a house or apartment or agreements formulated by relatives.
Current Property Tax Bill (online copies are not accepted)
Current Homeowner's or Renter's Insurance Policy or Declarations (bills or statements are not accepted)

Group 2

Provide one document from the list below:

Current State or Federal Tax Returns with W-2 or 1099 attached
Current Payroll Check Stub with name & address (personal checks are not accepted)
Current dated correspondence from an official government agency not used in Group 1:
- Internal Revenue Service, Social Security, Child Support, Foster Care
- Voter registration or polling information (if recent reg. in CA)
- Jury summons or subpoena
- ANY current document from a federal, state, or county agency (excluding the DMV)

Step 2: Complete Online Data Confirmation

Data Confirmation must be completed for all students prior to the start of each school year.

Log into Aeries Parent Portal account (Directions for creating an AUHSD Aeries Account). There are seven steps to complete the process:

Step 1: Family Information
Indicate whether or not at least one parent/guardian of this student is active in the United States Armed Forces.

Step 2: Student
Review and update mailing address for school notifications (report cards, letters, etc). Include student mobile phone number for emergency use.

Step 3: Contacts
When updating contact information, please include:

Phone and email address
Whether a contact is a primary contact by selecting Yes or No from the Primary Contact drop-down menu. Primary contacts are parents/guardians.
Each parent's education level from the Ed Level drop-down menu . See a screenshot of "Edit Contact" below.

Step 4: Documents
Please review the annual parent notifications and advisements. Clicking on the notifications will open a new tab in your browser. Close the tab after review to return to the Aeries Parent Portal.

Step 5: Authorizations
Please review the statements in each authorization and designate your approval.

There is nothing to do on this page. Select Confirm and Continue.

Step 4: Sports Registration for Student Athletes

Athletic registration for AUHSD is completed online through Sportsnet. All students participating in AUHSD athletics must complete online registration and provide a current physical form.

Parents will be able to upload documents on a secure website for review by athletic directors.

The registration process begins on June 1, 2026. Physical forms must be signed and stamped after June 1, 2026 to be considered current.

Acalanes is a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) campus. We encourage families to consider providing a personal device for their students that they can use throughout their years at Acalanes. Please consider the recommended device specifications and any necessary software or applications students may need to install.

For those families and students who will need a school-issued device, we will have them available to our students on the first day of school, August 11th, in the library. Thank you to LPIE for their partnership! We can provide a devices to a student who may need one because of their support. Our priority is to ensure that every student has access to the tools they need for academic success.

Canvas

Canvas is AUHSD's online system for assignments, academic resources, grades, and communication.

Please note, the AUHSD Canvas is not the same as your previous school or district.
Grade 9 and other new students will set up their Canvas accounts the first week of school.
Parents will recieve information on setting up your parent Canvas account during the first week of school.
